Yesterday, there was a jazz live at DE JILL in Miyazaki City.
The lineup featured a guitar duo with Yusuke Yanagida, a guitarist from Mimata Town in Miyazaki Prefecture, where I also hail from.
It was only the second time we met, but he's truly an amazing guitarist, and we had a blast during rehearsals! The warmth extended by the mama-san at the venue also helped us relax and prepare.
This was my first live performance in Miyazaki City, and I was thrilled to see many of my middle school and high school classmates in attendance.
Some friends I hadn't seen in almost 10 years showed up, along with friends who brought their families, including their children. It was truly a joyful night.
We chose jazz standards like "Fly Me to the Moon," "Mack the Knife," and "Over the Rainbow" for the setlist, focusing on well-known tunes to appeal to a wide audience.
While many attendees weren't familiar with jazz live performances, everyone seemed to be having a great time, which made our performance even more enjoyable.
I'm looking forward to performing regularly with Yusuke in the future, so for those who couldn't make it this time, please come join us next time!
