Yesterday, we had a jazz live performance at Koshiki in Kawagoe!
The lineup featured Jim Butler, an alto saxophonist with whom I regularly collaborate. Since I enjoy duo performances with saxophone, I decided to try a duo performance with Jim this time.
Being the sole accompanist carries significant responsibility, but I feel like I'm gradually getting used to performing as a duo. As I've become more accustomed to playing in various ensembles little by little, I want to continue gaining experience in this direction!
Upon arrival at the venue, there was already a group enjoying drinks, so we started playing without a rehearsal. Although they weren't originally there to listen to music, they seemed to enjoy our performance♪ It's unique to Koshiki to have customers who aren't necessarily there for the music but still listen to the performance!
I hope music-loving customers will come to the next jazz live as well.
